Spring is one of the most beautiful seasons in Pensacola, Florida. The weather starts to warm up with average temperatures in the 70s and 80s, and locals and tourists alike cannot get enough of the outdoors! While spending days on the stunning white sandy beaches are a popular pass time, spring also brings many signature events to Pensacola. The city comes alive with various festivals and activities, from outdoor concerts to cultural festivals and even friendly competitions. Whether you''re into music festivals, sports, or beach parties, there is something everyone can enjoy.   

Pensacola Jazz Fest

April 1- 2

Seville Square   

For jazz lovers, the Pensacola JazzFest is a must-see event. The 40th annual Pensacola Jazz Festival takes place in April and features live performances from local and national jazz musicians, including traditional and contemporary jazz styles. The festival has been a staple of the Pensacola music scene for over 30 years and is organized by the Jazz Society of Pensacola. This nonprofit organization promotes jazz music and education in the local community.  

The event is free to attend and typically showcases a variety of performances throughout the weekend, including free outdoor concerts, ticketed indoor concerts, and jazz competitions for students and aspiring musicians. In addition to the music, the festival also features food and drink vendors, arts and crafts vendors, and other activities for attendees to enjoy. This event is hosted at Seville Square, so guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and/or blankets to sit outside, relax, and enjoy the music.   

 

Bands on the Beach

April 4

Casino Beach Boardwalk

Bands on the Beach is a popular seasonal outdoor concert series from April to October on Pensacola Beach. Beginning on April 4th, Bands on the Beach will return to Pensacola Beach at the beautiful Gulfside Pavilion overlooking the Gulf of Mexico. Located next to the Casino Beach Boardwalk, Bands on the Beach Bands on the Beach features a variety of musical genres, including rock, country, blues, and jazz. The series showcases local and regional artists, offering a variety of music acts.   

Spectators can bring lawn chairs or blankets and listen to a lineup of local performers while relaxing with their toes in the sand! In addition to the live music, Bands on the Beach also offers a variety of food and drink vendors and arts and crafts vendors. Attendees can enjoy a variety of snacks and refreshments while listening to the music and taking in the beautiful Gulf Coast scenery.

Pensacola Blue Wahoos Opening Weekend

April 7 - 9

Wahoo's Stadium

The excitement begins on April 7th in Downtown Pensacola, as the Blue Wahoos take the field for opening weekend. The Pensacola Blue Wahoos are a minor league baseball team based in Pensacola, Florida, and their opening night is typically a highly anticipated event for fans and the community. The team will play a three-game series on the second weekend of April against the Montgomery Biscuits at Admiral Fetterman Field in downtown Pensacola. From pre-game festivities to post-game fireworks, local baseball fans look forward to watching games in the beautiful spring and summer weather at Wahoos Stadium, overlooking Pensacola Bay.

Pensacola Bay Music Festival

April 15

Community Maritime Park

Another exciting event coming to Pensacola this April is the Pensacola Bay Music Festival. The Pensacola Bay Music Festival is a one-day music festival in downtown Pensacola showcasing live tribute bands at the amphitheater in Community Maritime Park. These artists will pay tribute to bands like Journey, Guns N Roses, Alice N Chains, and other musicians from the golden era of classic rock.   

There will be plenty of food trucks onsite and various vendors for beverages and snacks. Attendees are encouraged to bring chairs or blankets to the event and enjoy live music in a gorgeous outdoor setting.   

  

Pensacola Crawfish Festival

April 28 - 30

Seville Square   

The Pensacola Crawfish Festival is an annual food festival in downtown Pensacola, Florida. The festival typically takes place over a weekend in late April or early May and celebrates Cajun cuisine and culture with a focus on boiled crawfish.  

During the festival, attendees can sample a variety of Cajun-style food, including boiled crawfish, jambalaya, gumbo, and other traditional dishes. Several vendors also sell arts and crafts, jewelry, and other items related to Cajun culture.  

In addition to the food and shopping, the festival also features live music and entertainment. There are typically several stages set up throughout the festival area, featuring local and regional musicians playing a variety of genres, including Cajun and Zydeco music.  

The Pensacola Crawfish Festival is organized by the Fiesta of Five Flags, a nonprofit organization that promotes and celebrates Pensacola''s history and culture. The festival is one of the largest food events in the region, attracting thousands of visitors each year. It is a great opportunity for locals and visitors alike to experience the flavors and traditions of Cajun culture.

Flora-Bama Interstate Mullet Toss

April 28 - 30

The Flora-Bama Lounge

The legendary Interstate Mullet Toss returns to the Flora-Bama Beach Bar this April. The Flora-Bama Interstate Mullet Toss is an annual event at the Flora-Bama Lounge, a famous beach bar on the Florida-Alabama state line. The event typically takes place over a weekend in April and draws thousands of participants and spectators.  

The main event of the Mullet Toss is a competition in which participants throw a dead mullet fish over the state line from Florida to Alabama. The goal is to see who can throw the fish the farthest distance. Proceeds from the Mullet Toss will go to local youth charities.  

In addition to the Mullet Toss competition, the event also features live music, food and drink vendors, and other activities such as beach volleyball, games, and paddleboarding competitions. The Flora-Bama Lounge, known for its lively atmosphere and unique location, is a popular spot for tourists and locals alike.
